Iron Pellet ; Rosta™ Pellet
Engineered for green steel applications, these high-value iron ore pellets are manufactured by converting red mud bauxite residue through advanced beneficiation processes. Designed specifically for direct reduced iron (DRI) production, hydrogen-based steelmaking, and Electric Arc Furnace feedstock, these premium pellets deliver exceptional metallurgical performance while significantly reducing mining landfill waste, environmental load, and industrial dust emissions.

From Red Mud to Green Iron
The future of steelmaking is not only about producing more iron. It is about finding better ways to source, process, and use it.
Red mud, also known as bauxite residue, is one of the major residues generated during alumina production. While traditionally treated as an industrial waste stream, it contains valuable iron that can be recovered and transformed into a usable material.
This is where Rosta™ Pellet comes in.
Rosta™ Pellet is an iron-rich pellet developed by recovering and upgrading the iron content present in red mud. Through beneficiation and pelletization, this industrial residue is transformed into a high-grade pellet designed for iron and steelmaking applications.
With a Total Fe content of 70–71% and controlled levels of key impurities, Rosta™ Pellet is developed with the quality requirements of modern ironmaking in mind. Its physical and metallurgical properties, including a Cold-Crushing Strength of ≥380 kg/cm², Reducibility Index of ≥82%, and DRI metallization of ≥97%, make it suited for Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) applications.
The opportunity goes beyond the pellet itself.
As the steel industry explores lower-carbon routes such as DRI, Electric Arc Furnace production, and hydrogen-based steelmaking, the quality and availability of suitable iron-bearing feedstocks become increasingly important. Noval Hub's green iron pellet research highlights the growing importance of pellet quality, emissions, and supply availability in this transition.
Rosta™ Pellet approaches this challenge from another angle: resource recovery.
Instead of viewing red mud only as a residue that needs to be managed, Rosta™ Pellet explores how its iron content can be brought back into the industrial value chain.
From bauxite residue to iron feedstock, the journey is about recovering value from what was once considered waste and creating another pathway toward the evolving future of steel.
